According to Téléfoot, Marseille defensive midfielder and French international Lassana Diarra has rejected the opportunity to sign a contract extension with the Ligue 1 club.

It is understood that the team’s new ownership has been making overtures in Diarra’s direction to get the former Real Madrid, Chelsea and Arsenal man to sign an extension.

Diarra has decided, according to the report, to seek the exit door in the January transfer window.
