Since 2011, Sullair LLC., located in Michigan City, Indiana, USA, has become a user of JUNKER grinding machines. Sullair air compressor has made major changes to its surface treatment process, eliminating the requirement of rotor pairing, and greatly improving the efficiency of the compressor.


In the past, multiple grinders and multiple clampings were required to complete the grinding of a rotor shaft. Before grinding the groove, the diameter and end face of the rotor shaft must be ground on the JUNKER QUICKPOINT point grinder.


Now, with JUMAT 6L, all machining tasks can be completed with only one machine tool and a single clamping.

For this, the JUNKER grinder is familiar with it and achieves excellent accuracy, with a lead error of +/-3 microns and a profile error of less than 6 microns.

For rough grinding and fine grinding of different spiral groove profiles, the machine tool is equipped with a grinding wheel replacement system.


The machine program can call the correct grinding wheel and manage the life of the grinding wheel. If a piece of grinding wheel has reached the end of its service life, the control system will request a replacement of the grinding wheel and remind the production manager to purchase a new grinding wheel.


The workpiece is transported to the machine tool by a fully automatic conveyor belt. Load the workpiece into the machine tool through the internal gantry system. Therefore, the safety of the entire system is guaranteed, and the grinding can be carried out with no added mineral oil.
