One of Joliet's Most Arrested Men Steals Wine At Target: Joliet Police

JOLIET — Justin Colnar, a 43-year-old Joliet man who has been the subject of numerous Joliet police arrests the past several years, was picked up once again this week, this time at the Target on Plainfield Road where Colnar was banned from visiting. He’s not allowed to do any shopping there.

As a result of the July 15 arrest, Colnar was arrested and released on a Notice to Appear at the Will County Courthouse on charges of retail theft and criminal trespass.

Joliet police spokesman Dwayne English said the following events led to Colnar’s detention:

At 8:32 p.m., on Monday, officers responded to the Target at 2701 Plainfield Road for a retail theft.

The officers learned that Colnar entered the store and concealed a bottle of white wine in his back pocket and left the store without paying for the product. It was also determined that Colnar had been previously banned from this store by Target employees.

The retail theft was captured on video surveillance.

Officers found Colnar in the parking lot, and he was in possession of the stolen bottle of wine. Colnar was placed into custody without incident.

In January, Colnar was the subject of a Joliet Patch crime story regarding his arrest by Joliet police at the Walmart store on Route 59. In that incident, Colnar put up a fight with Joliet police at the Route 59 Walmart property after officers found him intoxicated from drinking two boxes of wine he was keeping inside his coat pockets, the arrest reports show.
