Despite reports that he had signed a new deal with WWE, former WCW star Johnny Stamboli has not yet come to terms on a new contract with the company and the Impact Zone Wrestling announcement was premature. However, Stamboli is booked to go on the road with WWE for several weeks for an extended tryout.

While the promotion’s announcement was premature, there is a lot of interest in WWE about signing Stamboli. Of course that was before Stamboli’s name surfaced in the recent steroid probe of Signature Pharmacy.
