When The Suspended WWE Wrestlers Will Be Able To Return To The Ring
source: Wrestling Observer
WWE announced ten Wellness policy suspensions on Thursday, August 30, 2007. An additional suspension was announced to the media by WWE attorney Jerry McDevitt the next day, believed to be Chris Masters. Talents suspended for 30 days should be able to return to the ring as early as Saturday, September 29. A SmackDown/ECW house show will be held in Peoria, Illinois on that day. There are no Raw brand house shows scheduled for that weekend, so the suspended Raw talents should be able to return as early as the October 1st Raw taping in Cleveland, Ohio.
Although, the No Mercy pay-per-view is being held the next Sunday, and all of these returns could pose as a distraction when there is pay-per-view to be hyped and the card is more than likely finalized. For instance, the previously suspended Jeff Hardy could have appeared at the Raw prior to SummerSlam, but they decided to hold off his return until the night after the pay-per-view. The new rule is that if you get suspended, you end up losing your spot on the next pay-per-view, even if your suspension ends prior to the pay-per-view. More than likely, a number of the returns will likely take place after No Mercy when they have a new pay-per-view to hype, that being Cyber Sunday.
Charlie Haas, Edge, Gregory Helms, John Morrison, William Regal, Mr. Kennedy, Umaga, Funaki and Chavo Guerrero are currently serving 30-day suspensions. Robert Huffman aka King Booker is serving a 60-day suspension. Chris Masters was also suspended, but it is unclear at the moment whether his suspension was for 30 days of 60 days. In May 2006, he went to rehab for a painkiller problem. It is unknown if he actually failed a Wellness test, or if it was based on a company decision that he needed rehab for painkillers and they didn’t count it as a strike against him. Although, McDevitt noted that only one wrestler was serving a 60-day suspension. King Booker has that spot taken, so it would appear that Masters is only serving a 30-day suspension.
