Leeds United boss Marcelo Bielsa has a warning for fans planning to boo Brentford star Pontus Jansson

The centre-half joined Brentford in July after making 117 appearances in three seasons for the Whites.

However, because of Financial Fair Play regulations, Leeds sold the fan favourite and he is preparing to return to the Yorkshire club for the first time.

But his former boss has insisted Jansson was the club’s best player last season as they narrowly missed out on promotion to the Premier League.

“He deserves to be received in the right way. He was the best player of the team last year,” Bielsa said in his pre-match press conference.

“He had a high level season and I appreciate what he gave. I think the fans will be fair and recognise what he did.”
