Transfer news: Why Liverpool will get £18million if Philippe Coutinho leaves Barcelona to join Bayern Munich on loan

The Brazil ace hasn’t made the anticipated impact at the Camp Nou following his £142m transfer from Anfield in January 2018.

As a result, the Spanish giants are keen to move on the Brazilian and recoup some of the cash they spent on the player.

According to AS, German outfit Bayern have agreed a deal which sees them pick up the player’s wages – reportedly worth around £11m – while also handing over an initial fee of £18m.

It is this fee which will head straight to Liverpool as part of Barcelona’s repayment of the huge £142m deal which was struck 18 months ago.

Bayern can also make the move for Coutinho permanent at the end of the loan deal if they cough up £120m.
