Marseille winger Florian Thauvin arrived this afternoon in Newcastle after being picked up by Newcastle representatives from Marseille in the morning.

OM and Newcastle have agreed a €17m + €3m bonus deal for the player and are offering Thauvin a six year contract worth around €3m a year.

It is our understanding that while contract negotiations progressed this afternoon between the two parties this afternoon, there are still some loose ends to tie up between now and his medical tomorrow.

Thauvin will however, barring an extraordinary turnaround in events, become a Newcastle player.
