Edinson Cavani unhappy again

According to L’Équipe this morning, Uruguayan attacker Edinson Cavani is yet again unhappy with his current situation at PSG and could seek an exit at the end of the season.

Cavani is said to be unhappy about his inability to hold down a permanent place in the starting XI, still facing severe competition for the sole centre forward role from Swede Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

The report admittedly is very imprecise and carries heavy speculation within it, without citing any names of possible suitors.

With Ibrahimovic almost certainly leaving for free at the end of the season, Cavani will surely see through these final 6 months before becoming Les Parisiens’ undisputed number one striker.

The player’s name apparently came up in a meeting between Silva, Ibrahimovic, Motta, Matuidi and Blanc in Doha on December 30th, with some senior members of the squad supposedly unhappy with his attitude.

The report also claims that Edinson Cavani was surprised not to start in PSG’s most recent Ligue 1 match against SC Bastia last weekend.
