According to L’Équipe, Arsenal right-back Mathieu Debuchy will “almost certainly” join Aston Villa this week on loan.

The French newspaper points to his absence on Arsenal’s teamsheet to face Chelsea yesterday to suggest that the move is closer than ever and also highlight that the player refuses, obviously, to join Aston Villa on a permanent deal.

Mathieu Debuchy has recently met with Aston Villa boss Remi Garde and was allowed to do so by Arsène Wenger.
