Jean-Louis Gasset to step down as Montpellier manager
Former PSG assistant Jean-Louis Gasset has announced that he will be stepping down from his position as the manager of Montpellier at the end of current campaign.
“I will not be continuing this adventure, I am stopping. I had already told the representatives after our victory over Lorient so that they could prepare accordingly following our decision. I will take a few days off and then, I will have to make a decision between my passion, football, and my family.”
Lille’s current interim manager Franck Passi is believed in be in pole position to take over at Montpellier.
Midi Libre indicate that current Reims boss Michel der Zakarian and free agent Philippe Montanier are also candidates, alongside Ghislain Printant, the former SC Bastia manager, who is currently working in house at Montpellier.
The local press report also indicates that Montpellier are considering Lucas Bernardi, the former Marseille and Monaco player.
