Ligue 1 side AS Monaco have this evening confirmed the arrival of 25-year-old Chilean international central defender Guillermo Maripan from La Liga club Alaves.

The centre-back has signed a 5-year deal with the Principality side, who have reportedly paid around €15m plus bonuses to land him.

He represents a desperately needed central defensive reinforcement, with Kamil Glik and Jemerson struggling in the early part of this campaign.
